I was very excited to find this free online learning opportunity! 23 Things for Professional Development looks like it will be a great experience.
Currently I am the Resource Sharing Librarian at Dixie State College in Southern Utah. My actual job duties are spread all over the map. I coordinate the reference schedule and provide between 8-15 hours of reference service per week. I also teach two sections of our required information literacy course per semester in addition to the class sessions for my liason departments which are Science (Life and Physical), Communication and Theater.
This fall I will apply for tenure and rank advancement, so added on top of my other duties, I have a very full plate. This is part of the reason that this "self paced" program was so attractive to me. I am able to work on it at my own pace.
I am hoping to develop a regular routine of writing as a product of this course. I have always wanted to blog regularly, but never really knew where to start. I think this is the perfect opportnity to learn! Thank you for the opportunity!
